A painting of Gladys at the age of 92

“Consideration for others makes you their best friend”

“Are you just taking up space or being productive?”

“Can’t never could”

“Patience and Courage” (said in French)

“Two wrongs don’t make a right”

“Even if you are poor: soap and water is cheap; Stay clean”

“It can be old, but it can be clean”

“Don’t get mad at your stomach do the best job you can because that is what feeds you”

“Don’t just stand around, make yourself useful”

“Hard work never hurt anyone”

“The world does not revolve around you, someone else always has it worse than you.”

“‘I Can’t’ or ‘There is no Way’ is not an option. We must rise up- we certainly Never Quit on the Mission/Task.”

About Gladys

Gladys grew up in Louisiana. She married the love of her life and they had 6 children together. At the age of 36, Gladys was widowed. Despite never having worked outside of the home, she was determined to raise her children, aging from 6 weeks to 14 years old. Gladys is Troy Morrison’s mother and his inspiration for the North Texas Family’s Core Values: Positive Energy, Integrity, Accountability, Guest Focus, Servant Leadership, & Recognition.

The words that exemplify her the most are from 1st Corinthians 13:4

“Love is patient and kind, love does not envy or boast, it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable, or resentful, it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with truth, love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things”
